Topic 11: The Hand

Post by Essence Team » Tue Jan 29, 2013 8:31 am

In this topic I'll talk about the Hand.

1) Each hero has a specified size of his hand - i.e. available card slots in his hand, defining how many cards he can draw and hold at a time during the combat.
2) In turn 1 of every combat each of the playing heroes can fill all his hand with cards, drawing from the Random Deck and/or his Collector Deck (see example 1).
3) In each following turn (i.e. each turn but the very first one) both you and your opponent can draw up to 3 cards from the Random Deck and/or your Collector Deck Decks.
4) If you don't have enough space in your hand, you will be able only to fill the missing card slots if there are any available (see example 2).
5) If your hand is completely full of cards, you will not be able to draw any card in the Draw Card Phase nor remove any buff card, currently armed in your buff area. But you will be able to exchange a buff card from your hand with a buff card from your buff area.
6) The size of the hand of each hero depends on its current level:
a) level 1-7: the hand has 5 card slots
b) level 8-15: the hand has 6 card slots
c) level 16-23: the hand has 7 card slots
d) level 24-31: the hand has 8 card slots
e) level 32-39: the hand has 9 card slots
f) level >39: the hand has 10 card slots
7) The attribute "Increase your hand area" increases the number of card slots in your hand.
8) The attribute "Decrease opponent's hand area" decreases the number of card slots of your opponent's hand.
9) There is a maximum available hand size - and it is 10 card slots! You cannot increase the size of your hand with more than 10 card slots by any means.
10) You can decrease the size of the hand of your opponent to zero card slots.
11) You cannot see what cards does your opponent hold in his hand as he cannot see what cards do you hold in your hand.
12) All the cards in your hand that you cannot play for one reason or another are dimmed.

Example 1:
You start a fight with your hero A against hero B. The size of the hand of your hero is 6 card slots, and the size of the hand of hero B is 5 card slots. In turn 1 you will be able to draw up to 6 cards from your Random and/or Collector Deck, and hero B will be able to draw up to 5 cards from his Random and/or Collector Deck.

Example 2:
You are in turn 5, the Draw Card Phase. The size of your hand is 7 card slots. You have 5 cards in your hand from your previous activity. You will be able to draw 0, 1 or 2 cards from your Random and/or Collector Deck.

That's it, check the other topics as well!
