Topic 24: Game Types

Post by Essence Team » Mon Feb 04, 2013 10:32 am

In this topic I'll talk about the different Game types.

1) You can play against AI opponent (Artificial Intelligence computer bot) as a Single Player mode.
2) The AI opponent will be with the level of your hero or plus or minus up to 2 levels around the level of your hero.
3) The level of the AI opponent defines the size of his buff area, hand, Collector Deck and number of distributed stat points.
4) The distribution of his stat points is randomly defined between these options:
- high enough Energy Points + everything else in Hit Points;
- high enough Energy Points + small amount of Hit Points + rest in Might (for Orc Warrior), Resistance (for Human Rogue) or Regeneration (for Elf Keeper);
- high enough Energy Points + randomly distributed Hit Points + Might (for Orc Warrior), Resistance (for Human Rogue) or Regeneration (for Elf Keeper);
- high enough Energy Points + randomly distributed Hit Points + Might + Resistance + Regeneration (for all hero characters).
- randomly distributed Energy Points + Hit Points + Might + Resistance + Regeneration (for all hero characters).
5) There are three difficulties of the AI opponent:
- Easy: average cards in his Collector Deck, almost no combos in use;
- Medium: strong cards in his Collector Deck, use of combos;
- Hard: strongest possible cards in his Collector Deck, use of strongest possible combos.
6) If you lose against an AI opponent, you will get 1 Experience Point.
7) If you win against an AI opponent, you will get large amount of Experience and Gold against Hard AI opponent, normal amount from Medium AI opponent and small amount from Easy AI opponent.
8) After level 20, the amount of Experience and Gold that you're granted after a winning combat starts to decrease a little.

9) You can play in Ranking game.
10) In Ranking games you play always against another human players. Winning games in Ranking Games will grant you with ranking scores, that will rise your ranking position. Losing games in Ranking Games will detract ranking scores from you, decreasing your ranking position.
11) The reward for winning Ranking games (both Gold and Experience) is twice as big;
12) The amount of scores that you get or lose depends on your and your opponent's current ranking scores, who is defined as a favorite according to the ranking scores, your levels, etc.
13) When you click on the "Ranking game" button, you start to search for another player, seeking Ranking game. First you search for players, that are up to 4 levels higher or lower level than your hero. If you don't find anyone in your level range, you expand the search to players, that are up to 8 levels higher or lower level than your hero. So in a Ranking Game you cannot fight with a hero 9 levels or more stronger or weaker than you.

14) You also can Challenge any currently online player in a Challenge Game. Here the fighting heroes can be of any level difference, but the result of the combat doesn't affect their Ranking profile.
15) The reward for winning Challenge games (both Gold and Experience) is x1.5 bigger;

16) You can play also in Single Player Campaign, where all the opponents are AI opponents.

That's it, check the other topics as well!

Just wondering by what measurement you get the experience/gold from in a ranking game.

For example I just won against a player who was 6 levels lower than me, but I was still awarded 8/32. Whereas I have played against other players and won, and haven't received nearly as much.

Is the exp/gold based off of your last difficulty setting?

Hi,
In the last Release 2.3.7 of the game, we changed the rewards of Gold and/or Experience you get from winning Challenge and Ranking games. Now it is more profitable to play against other human players :)
We introduced this release on 12.02.2013, so maybe your last battle was after the release and your previous observations are from older releases.
